Grandparents ROCK!!

What do YOU like best about your Grandparents?  Do they give you treats?  Take you out for lunch or a fluffy?  Maybe they let you help bake bikkies or mow the lawns?  Perhaps you're allowed to watch dvds or play CDs and dance around the lounge?  Or maybe grandpa takes you for a ride on his motorbike??  Or maybe GRANDMA does??? hahaha - now THAT would be cool!

I'm having 2 concerts in Nelson soon and inviting you to bring your Grandparents along, if you can.  I've written a special song just for them (watch out, because they have to dance and sing along!).  I asked a whole lot of people to tell me what they call their grandparents and then I came up with a Bridge (which is a part of a song) with as many names as I could fit in.  This is what I came up with - see if YOUR grandparents' name or names are in there:

Koro, Kuia, Noni and Pop
Nandi and Grandi, the names don’t stop
Gaga, Wee Nana, Wrinkley too
Meme (maymay), gangan and Nanni Blue
Chief, Bob-Bob and Nana Breadtag
Nanna Spanna’s a bit of a dag

Ruffles and Peaky, The Great Ging-Ging
Yogi and GranJan sure can sing
Oma, Opa, Grammy and Buppa
Gammer and Gaffa love having a cuppa
Roy Nana takes her dog for a walk
Miggy and Grandude love to talk!

White Grandma and Caravan Grandad
GG and 3G sound kinda rad
Noonie, Gamgam and Grandad Japan
Nagymana (nudge mumma) and Nagypapa (nudge papa), Hungarian
Glamour Granna and Mimi WOW!
Call out the names of your grandparents NOW!

Don't forget to tell your grandparents you love them and maybe give THEM a treat next time your staying and take them breakfast in bed!  Ask them first though and don't try to cook anything on the stove by yourself.

Auckland so far

I arrived on 8th May and so far have visited Parnell, Ponsonby, Birkenhead, Greenhithe, Sommerville (twice), River Valley, Don Buck, Chelsea, Takapuna, Kingsdene and One Tree Hill Kindergartens, Tiny Tots Northcote (twice), Blue Frog, Lancaster Learning, 8's Enuff, Little People (twice), Dynamic Kids, Allsaints Creche, Sunny Days and Kids At Play.  It's been fun going to all sorts of different places around Auckland and getting to know my way around a bit better.  Everyone has been so friendly and all the kids were fanTAStic!
I've busked at Coatsville Market, been on The Great Big Kids Show and Bfm's Sunday kids show with Finn.
Today I went to the Avondale Market and bought my fruit and veges and made a yummy vege soup for tea!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I wrote a song especially for Grandparents recently too - it has a lot of names that different people call their grandparents - it's the Bridge in my song - here it is - see if your grandparents names are in it:

Koro, Kuia, Noni and Pop
Nandi and Grandi, the names don’t stop
Gaga, Wee Nana, Wrinkley too
Meme (maymay), Gangan and Nanni Blue
Chief, Bob-Bob and Nana Breadtag
Nanna Spanna’s a bit of a dag

Ruffles and Peaky, The Great Ging-Ging
Yogi and GranJan sure can sing
Oma, Opa, Grammy and Buppa
Gammer and Gaffa love having a cuppa
Roy Nana takes her dog for a walk
Miggy and Grandude love to talk!

White Grandma and Caravan Grandad
GG and 3G sound kinda rad
Noonie, Gamgam and Grandad Japan
Nagymana (nudge mumma) and Nagypapa (nudge papa), Hungarian
Glamour Granna and Mimi WOW!
Call out the names of your grandparents NOW!

Well!  Go on, call them out!  You might have 4 - you might have more!  You might have less too and that's cool.  I haven't got any grandparents now - but I still have a Mum and she's a Nana to my daughter and her other grandkids.

Geepers! Time flies!

Let's see.....I've started writing a song about Bubbles....I spent a bit of time blowing and watching them to get ideas...I also thought about writing a Rainbow song....it will be based on ROYGBIV - and yelling the colours out.  Do you know what ROYGBIV means??  It's the first letters of the colours of the rainbow, in order!!  RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO, VIOLET.  Cool huh?

It was Purple Cake Day on 1st March and we had such a lot of FUN visiting schools and preschools seeing what they'd done - here's a photo of me in last year's PCD outfit!
I've been working on two School Songs and songs for a new Primary School Production - I love writing - do you?
I've been to the Plunket Fair and the Toy Library Fair here in Nelson and I'm going to work in Auckland in May for a couple of months - hopefully I'll see you there!!

Mapua Leisure Park

Over a month has gone by since my last post! I've been down to Oamaru, Dunedin and Christchurch for a week on a Christmas holiday, then back to run the holiday programme at the Mapua Leisure Park. Wow, what fun we've had!! We've made dragons, dinosaurs, played with clay, made lanterns, treasure maps, pancakes, dart, painted pet rocks, played all sorts of sports and games, special Friday the 13th scary masks, icky scones and had a FEAR FACTOR challenge.

We've also made rafts out of bamboo - here are some pictures of some of them.  The first one is the wnner!! Evie's was the only one that stayed afloat!!

Here's some pics of our scary masks on Friday 13th!

And here are our ICKY scones!!!!  Eeeewwww!  But they tasted GOOD!!
