On Waiheke

What a fun day on Waiheke!  First, I caught the train from Morningside to Britomart.....

Then, I walked to the Ferry Terminal and hopped on the ferry...

it wasn't very full....

This is what Auckland looks like from the ferry....

Goodbye Auckland.......

Passing another boat....

Auckland getting smaller and smaller...

Hello Devonport....

Wow!! This is a big container ship...I'm surprised it can float!!

Goodbye Devonport...

What do you think this is on the island??  It's like a bit chimney or something....

Here we are at Waiheke Island...

This is Debbie who picked me up and brought me to Waiheke Kindy...

It's an awesome kindy with recycled milk containers for potplant holders and their own garden and other cool things....

The bird feeder...that's a bird underneath

And now the gig!!!  I'm not wearing my tutu because of the train and ferry trip....

Lullaby time...go to sleep now...

And now it's time to go....but I'll be back some day.....so see ya later....goodbye....
Some cool sky on the way back to Auck on the ferry...

That's me....though you can't tell...but the sun and clouds look cool behind me!

Rockin' Grandparents!

Awesome concerts in Nelson!!  Heaps of fun!  Grandparents dancin', everyone singing, doing actions, yelling things out, Flossie's balloon bees and flowers, Fairie Lou spreading her lovely fairy magic...just lovely it was. I hope to have some photos on my Facebook Page soon and also there'll be loads of photos on John-Paul Pochin's website soon too!

Thanks for coming everyone - see you all again soon!!

Grandparents ROCK!!

What do YOU like best about your Grandparents?  Do they give you treats?  Take you out for lunch or a fluffy?  Maybe they let you help bake bikkies or mow the lawns?  Perhaps you're allowed to watch dvds or play CDs and dance around the lounge?  Or maybe grandpa takes you for a ride on his motorbike??  Or maybe GRANDMA does??? hahaha - now THAT would be cool!

I'm having 2 concerts in Nelson soon and inviting you to bring your Grandparents along, if you can.  I've written a special song just for them (watch out, because they have to dance and sing along!).  I asked a whole lot of people to tell me what they call their grandparents and then I came up with a Bridge (which is a part of a song) with as many names as I could fit in.  This is what I came up with - see if YOUR grandparents' name or names are in there:

Koro, Kuia, Noni and Pop
Nandi and Grandi, the names don’t stop
Gaga, Wee Nana, Wrinkley too
Meme (maymay), gangan and Nanni Blue
Chief, Bob-Bob and Nana Breadtag
Nanna Spanna’s a bit of a dag

Ruffles and Peaky, The Great Ging-Ging
Yogi and GranJan sure can sing
Oma, Opa, Grammy and Buppa
Gammer and Gaffa love having a cuppa
Roy Nana takes her dog for a walk
Miggy and Grandude love to talk!

White Grandma and Caravan Grandad
GG and 3G sound kinda rad
Noonie, Gamgam and Grandad Japan
Nagymana (nudge mumma) and Nagypapa (nudge papa), Hungarian
Glamour Granna and Mimi WOW!
Call out the names of your grandparents NOW!

Don't forget to tell your grandparents you love them and maybe give THEM a treat next time your staying and take them breakfast in bed!  Ask them first though and don't try to cook anything on the stove by yourself.

Auckland so far

I arrived on 8th May and so far have visited Parnell, Ponsonby, Birkenhead, Greenhithe, Sommerville (twice), River Valley, Don Buck, Chelsea, Takapuna, Kingsdene and One Tree Hill Kindergartens, Tiny Tots Northcote (twice), Blue Frog, Lancaster Learning, 8's Enuff, Little People (twice), Dynamic Kids, Allsaints Creche, Sunny Days and Kids At Play.  It's been fun going to all sorts of different places around Auckland and getting to know my way around a bit better.  Everyone has been so friendly and all the kids were fanTAStic!
I've busked at Coatsville Market, been on The Great Big Kids Show and Bfm's Sunday kids show with Finn.
Today I went to the Avondale Market and bought my fruit and veges and made a yummy vege soup for tea!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I wrote a song especially for Grandparents recently too - it has a lot of names that different people call their grandparents - it's the Bridge in my song - here it is - see if your grandparents names are in it:

Koro, Kuia, Noni and Pop
Nandi and Grandi, the names don’t stop
Gaga, Wee Nana, Wrinkley too
Meme (maymay), Gangan and Nanni Blue
Chief, Bob-Bob and Nana Breadtag
Nanna Spanna’s a bit of a dag

Ruffles and Peaky, The Great Ging-Ging
Yogi and GranJan sure can sing
Oma, Opa, Grammy and Buppa
Gammer and Gaffa love having a cuppa
Roy Nana takes her dog for a walk
Miggy and Grandude love to talk!

White Grandma and Caravan Grandad
GG and 3G sound kinda rad
Noonie, Gamgam and Grandad Japan
Nagymana (nudge mumma) and Nagypapa (nudge papa), Hungarian
Glamour Granna and Mimi WOW!
Call out the names of your grandparents NOW!

Well!  Go on, call them out!  You might have 4 - you might have more!  You might have less too and that's cool.  I haven't got any grandparents now - but I still have a Mum and she's a Nana to my daughter and her other grandkids.

Thanks Wellington!

Some fantastic gigs in Wellington - left Picton on 18th April and sung my way over - that's my red car in the queue!
Here are some of the kids I sang to on the Ferry - I had to switch off the tele.....they didn't mind.
Moana Lodge is an awesome backpackers with friendly people and a fantastic view out over the sea and Mana Island - I walked around the sea lots of times

I taught Nicci and Gwyn to knit while I was there - Nicci is from the UK and Gwyn from Singapore...

Good fun at my Plimmerton concert

What beautiful butterflies.....

Thanks to Clyde Quay, Island Bay and Owhiro Bay Kindys, Rata St School and Montessori Children's House Miramar for such fun gigs at your place!

Thistle Hall  is a really lovely and extremely reasonable venue.  Thanks for coming and singing with me!  Here's a whole lot of pictures of us all having a good time...

Time for a lullaby....don't think anyone went to sleep though....

NZique is a very cool craft shop with HEAPS of different things - if you're looking for the perfect gift, head to Jackson St, Petone and you'll definitely find it.  Lovely small, appreciative crowd...

And then it was night time and the moon was almost full..
See ya next time Wellington!  Thanks for having me!
